Introductory Critique – $299

Your book is your baby. You’ve laughed over it and cried over it, and now it’s almost time to let it go. But don’t send your book into the world unprepared. Editing is essential whether you’re interested in self-publishing or are planning to query it with agents and publishers. Show your best work by getting a professional pair of second eyes to make sure your book, your baby, is ready to brave the world.

Our introductory critique takes a portion of your work, usually the first chapter (up to 2,000 words), and provides an overview of what you’re doing well and what needs improvement. This includes:

  • A comprehensive critique
  • A sample line edit
  • Suggestions for changes to make throughout your manuscript
  • An editorial service recommendation

This is not a replacement for line editing or content editing. Instead, it gives us the chance to see what other service would best fit your manuscript.

Your first chapter is what agents and publishers will be looking at the hardest. At the very least, the introductory critique will help you polish it for publication.

Our turn around time is typically between two to four weeks. If you are not satisfied with your edit, we offer a fourteen-day money-back guarantee.
