I couldn't be happier working with Kyle as my writing coach. He brings a tremendous amount of life experience to the table, while also having a lifetime writer's sense of nuance and creativity. This adds up to an ability to dissect a scene and make precise suggestions to really bring it to life.

On this note – the creation of dynamic grab-the-reader-by-the-throat scenes – my writing has improved dramatically since working with Kyle. His expertise in this area is one of his biggest strengths. Under his tutelage I've learned that if there's one aspect of writing to master, it's the construction of scenes that the reader *can't help* but pour through.

I find this tremendously important, as there are so many aspects to writing, and so many people advising this/that/the other, that one can get lost in all the trees (and miss the forest).

Everything else will follow, and many mistakes will be overlooked, if one has this as a primary goal when sitting down to write for the day.

I can see the craft of writing takes years to master, to reach the level of Steinbeck, Updike, Clavell, Tolkein (I tip my hand there), but with Kyle's help, I've given myself the best chance of staying in the game long enough to do so.
