Not sure what to enter? Here are some standard numbers:

• Royalty Percentage: Most traditional publishers offer 12 to 18 percent royalties based on a paperback book's list price (although eBook and hardcover books are usually a little different).
• Book Price: Traditional paperbacks tend to be between $14 and $18 as of 2024.
• Copies sold: While highly variable, traditionally published books sell an average of about 3,000 copies, with some selling many times more and some much less. Finally, most agents charge 15 percent of the author's royalties.
