Kitty Lascurain
About This Coach
Kitty Lascurain has spent decades cultivating a sharp instinct for storytelling.
Kitty began her professional writing career in her early twenties with a BA in journalism and a nagging “I’d-rather-be-writing-fiction” problem. Believing that books would never pay the bills, she spent years racking up publishing credits and building a successful career writing and editing articles for glossy magazines and web media giants, but that stubborn little voice never went away. Eventually, Kitty did something brave: she answered the call, dedicating herself to her passion for story. She’s been helping other authors do the same ever since.
As a published and award-winning fiction author and a certified developmental editor, proofreader, and story coach, Kitty has spent over ten years studying story structure, character development, and the publishing industry, fully retooling her professional writing kit. Far from being wasted, her early years in journalism sharpened her edge as an editor, training her to cut the fluff, uncover the heart of the story, and distill it into a universal truth—a formula that never fails to make fiction more compelling. Kitty has read for lit mags, judged literary contests, and written countless critiques for writing services and professional associations, but she has never found anything more satisfying than working one-on-one with other writers to help them uncover the hidden potential in their work and themselves.
Whether you’re a new writer hoping to finally finish your first draft, a publishing pro in need of another manuscript critique, or just a fellow wordsmith looking to connect, Kitty would love the opportunity to get to know you and your story. Reviews
Kitty is awesome! She carefully peeled back the layers of my story and found areas that needed a little TLC. She cares about my characters as much as I do and that made all the difference for me. I am looking forward to working with her again!
