Julia Raffel
About This Coach
Julia Raffel is a certified book coach with a passion for talking about story. She travels for inspiration, honing her abilities as a writer through observation and new experiences.
She’s currently working as a patient care coordinator at an eye doctor’s office during the day where she daydreams about stories. In fiction, her specialties include horror, thriller, romance, mystery and fantasy. She has a love for the dark, weird and unusual, always ready to be a cheerleader when needed and someone to bounce ideas off of when feeling stuck. Her strengths lie in dialogue, creating tension, and characterization.
Julia has a BA in creative writing from Susquehanna University with a minor in Publishing & Editing. Her short horror stories can be found in Halloweenthology and Merry Creepsmas anthologies published by Wicked Shadow Press. She currently lives in Southern Maine with her partner and their three cats, one of which has a constant hankering for human flesh, their bearded dragon that enjoys decorating her tank in red peppers, and their newest addition, a pitsky puppy lovingly known by her nickname, Shark Girl.
